We investigated solar energy by wrapping chocolate biscuits in different materials, to see which materials absorb the most heat.  We used black paper, white paper, green paper and aluminium foil to wrap up a biscuit and then put them in the sun.  The black paper made the biscuit melt quicker then the others.  The aluminium foil reflected the heat so was the least effective.

We then investigated making a solar oven.  We used a box and layers of different materials to insulate the box and put it in the sun.  We tested it with cheese on toast and with marshmallows in biscuits.  Fortunately the sun came out so we could see the results.
