We have had a busy week in Room 2 getting to know each other while beginning to set routines and expectations for a new year. The children have worked hard on making a class Waka (hopefully, we’ll all be paddling in the same direction) and I’m excited to share their creation with you below. As you can see, we have also cooled off in the hot weather with some water play on the deck, made playdough (with Mrs Chambers), and learned some valuable negotiation and communication skills through co-operative play!

Next week we will learn a little bit about the Treaty of Waitangi, then take a well earned day off, before we settle into our reading, writing and maths routines.

I’d love you to add your comments to our first blog of the year!
