We learnt how Matariki was celebrated on Pacific Islands when we visited the library today. We sang and danced and paddled around different Pacific Islands with some Auckland Museum performers. We counted to seven in three different but similar languages.

It was a great trip. We learned a lot about Matariki. It was really fun. I learned that Matariki has a second name called the seven sisters. They say it is a good time to plant when they are out in the sky. It was a wicked Wellsford trip. I enjoyed it a lot. By Taylor.
